Beaufort

02.07.2005 - 06.07.2005

Destination

Biker, who participated in last years SunTour know about our survey. Goal of the survey was to find out whether we should go for new destinations or favorise already known areas in favour of a shorter journey.

According to the result of this survey, and paying attention to it, we selected a destination in the nothern part of the Maritime Alps in France. To be more precise, the village Beaufort in the region Savoy.

Beaufort

Beaufort, 2036 inhabitants, 2486 feet above see level, well known for it's cheese and as a skiing resort, serves Beaufort as a pretty central location for our tours. As usual we are offering two day trips and a Rally on the third day. These tours are going through narrow gorge, perfect windy roads, over the second highest pass in the Maritime Alps and to brilliant off-road paths ( which is only an option for those cowards as we are ). In other words, the highlights of the nothern Maritime Alps and a magnificent sight of the white mountain.

Schedule

We made up our mind to shift the date of the SunTour 2005 one month later as we are going over the second highest pass in the Alps. It happend to us several times encountering snow blocked passes in June which let us decide for this later date not jeopardising our trip.

The journey to Beaufort will be on Saturday 2nd of July 2005. The departure will be on Wednesday 6th of July 2005 as we are planning to have three trips. A extension of your stay in the hotel to the end of the week is possible. Also to shorten your trip to a minimum of three days if there is no other way around it.

Offroad Special

This time we took care and selected some perfect offroad paths away from the beaten track as an alternative for the bored macadam cowboys. They can be driven on with any offroad bike no matter what type it is.
